USA HYPOCRISY EXPOSED ACCEPTS ISRAELI RAPE REPORTS BUT NOT UNITED NATIONS FINDINGS OF ISRAELI SEX CRIMES AGAINST PALESTINIAN WOMEN & GIRLS
February 22, 2024The US State Department faced questioning regarding its response to allegations of sexual assault against Palestinian women and girls in the West Bank and Gaza. During a press briefing, a journalist raised concerns over a report by United Nations experts, which highlighted instances of multiple forms of sexual assault reportedly perpetrated by male Israeli army officers against female Palestinian detainees.
Associated Press journalist, Matt Lee questioned, US State Dept spokesperson, Matt Miller, on who had provided ‘confirmation of what Hamas allegedly did to Israelis women and girls,’ to which Miller replied ‘credible’ testimony came from Israeli medical experts.
Lee challenged Miller saying: “”So you consider those reports to be credible but not what the UN experts have said?””
Miller replied: “”We have seen this report and we have called for an investigation””.
The issue is the USA DID NOT question or request an investigation into the allegations by Israel of rape and abuse by Hamas. They just accepted it verbatim.
However, with regards to the same accusations being made AGAINST Israeli soldiers raping and abusing WOMEN AND GIRLS, the USA would NOT ACCEPT the reports of UN officials. IT HAS TO INVESTIGATE!
OHH THEY HYPOCRISY!
UN experts said at least two female Palestinian detainees were reportedly raped, while others were allegedly threatened with rape and sexual violence and that
“”On at least one occasion, Palestinian women detained in Gaza were allegedly kept in a cage in the rain and cold, without food””.
When will human beings be treated equally and such egregious violations and double standards END?

Journalist: I have a question about the statement by the UN experts from the UN Human Rights Office yesterday expressing alarm over allegations of human rights violations to which Palestinian women and girls in the West Bank and Gaza is subjected to. They said, the UN experts said that Palestinian women and girls in detention have been subjected to multiple forms of sexual assault by male Israeli army officers. At least two of them were reportedly threatened with rape and sexual violence. Have you seen those allegations? So you have any reaction?
Matthew Miller: I have seen the allegations. I cannot independently confirm the reports. I will say that we have been clear that civilians and detained individuals must be treated humanely and in accordance with international humanitarian law. We strongly urge Israel to thoroughly and transparently investigate credible allegations, ensure any accountability for abuses and violations, and that will continue to be our position.
Journalist: Have you heard back from your previous call for an investigation into the killing of Hind Rajab.
Matthew Miller: We have heard that those investigations are underway. It’s our understanding the investigations have not yet been concluded.
Matt Lee: Sorry, can I just ask you?
Matthew Miller: Yeah.
Matt Lee: When you said you had no independent confirmation of what the UN experts found…
Matthew Miller: I mean, the underlying allegations.
Matt Lee: Yeah, yeah I get it. But did you ever have confirmation of what Hamas allegedly did to Israelis who were women, girls who were…
Matthew Miller: There are Israeli medical experts who have testified to that. And that is something that we consider credible.
Matt Lee: Yes. So you consider those instances to be confirmed, but not what the UN experts found.
Matthew Miller: We have seen this report and we have called for an investigation to confirm whether the allegations are true or not.
Matt Lee: I get it. And if you’re willing to take the word of Israeli and I’m not saying you shouldn’t, but if you’re willing to take the word of Israeli medical experts on what happened to the people who were abducted on October 7th, whose word are you willing to take, if not the UN…
Matthew Miller: A full, independent, credible investigation.
Matt Lee: Would it have to be the Israeli medical expert?
Matthew Miller: We are calling for that in…No, of course, it would not have to be an Israeli but a credible medical expert. A credible…I don’t want to prescribe who it would be. A credible mental medical expert that can testify to. It would be something we would look at, of course, it would not have to be Israeli.
Matt Lee: You would look at, but you take…
Matthew Miller: I’m not going to…because that’s one where we have seen the outcome of the investigation and are able to opine on a matter that has been conducted…
Matt Lee: Well yeah, but you need to do your own independent investigation. And what I think you know, it’s pretty much well-accepted by everybody that there were instances of rape and sexual assault on October 7th…
Matthew Miller: And the circumstances very much matter. And in this
Matt Lee: I completely understand that, but I just wonder…
Matthew Miller: It is a well…hold on. It is a well-accepted it is a well accepted fact with respect to this.
Matt Lee: Yeah, no, no it might be a well-accepted fact.
Matthew Miller: No, no hold on just let me finish.
Matt Lee: But you’re saying that you have what you consider to be independent confirmation that those attacks, those assaults happened. And in this case…
Matthew Miller: Independent confirmation. It is a well-accepted fact because the investigations produced credible evidence that not just the United States, but countries…no let me finish. Countries around the world accepted. With respect to these new allegations, we want to see an investigation. and we will, of course, look at the investigation and make our judgments when that investigation’s concluded.
Matt Lee: Okay. So it’s just too early.
Matthew Miller: Correct.
