ISRAEL’S KILL RATE IN GAZA HIGHEST SINCE RWANDA

Andrew Gilmour: I mean, the key point about international law is that one appalling thing does not justify another. Therefore, 57 years of an extremely harsh, illegal occupation by Israel of West Bank and Gaza did not justify the barbarous attack by Hamas on on seventh October. Similarly, what they did, which is beyond unspeakable, we know what they did, does not justify the killing of, as you say, 25,000 people, of which, by the way, the highest figure, I think is a lot higher than 10,000 children. I think it’s probably closer to 20,000 women and children. Now, remember, that is probably the highest kill rate of any military killing anybody since the Rwandan genocide of 1994. 27,000 people, civilians killed in four and a half months is an astonishing thing. You ask, is it collective punishment?
