Elena Stein: What will we do to stand with Palestinians? What risks are we willing to incur?
Supporters: Everything.
Elena Stein: And I know risk looks different for all of us. I know that some of you, including people who have spoken tonight, have lost their jobs for speaking out. Many of us have been estranged from our families for speaking out. But our greatest risk of all would be to know that our Palestinian siblings are being massacred in our names and we did not do everything we could do to stop it. That is the risk that none of us can take.
Peter Eisentstein: Did we accept Nazi Germany? Yes, we did, for too long and the result was the Holocaust. Did we accept Zionism? Yes, we have for too long and the result is a new genocide. And this genocide must be stopped now, just like we stopped Nazi Germany. But to stop the Zionists, we have to remain united. True Judaism, like true Islam, teaches love and tolerance. When Zionism ends and it will end, I pray we’ll be able to return to the love and acceptance we have traditionally shown each other.
Elena Stein: Whatever your particular skills, your particular interests, your particular position in the world. You have power. You have power to intervene in this violence. So while tonight we are gathering as Jews, tomorrow we show up and we march following the leadership of Palestinians.
