ISRAEL RESPONSIBLE FOR IRAN ATTACK
April 15, 2024China, Russia and Algeria yesterday condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran, stating that Israel must take full responsibility for the provoked retaliatory response by Iran on Satuday.
The speeches given during an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council yesterday demonstrated the growing tensions within the UNSC and members of the UN General Assembly over Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas that has caused the deaths of more than 35,000 Palestinians civilians and inured nearly 80,000 others, with two-thirds being women and children.
“The root causes should be addressed, and the root cause is the Israeli occupation,” the Deputy Representative of Algeria, Mr. Nacim Gaouaoui, said.
“Ultimately, there is no alternative to the full implementation of a two-state solution, the only way to end the vicious circle of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,” the representative for China, Dai Bing, said.
Iran’s attack was NOT in a vacuum. It was a RETALIATION! It was in response to Israel’s blatant violation of state sovereignty in which they struck an Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1st.
Israel continues its assault on Gaza and the Palestinians and expects to do so withj impunity.
It seeks to blatantly VIOLATE international law yet expects others to be held accountable to it.
This is unacceptable under any circumstances!

Nacim Gaouaoui: The crises in the Middle East are part and parcel of each other, and they are all interrelated and that’s why the root causes should be addressed, and the root cause is the Israeli occupation. The recent developments cannot overrule or cover the central question, which is the aggression on the unarmed Palestinian people in Gaza.
Samuel Žbogar: Slovenia continues to believe that a ceasefire in Gaza would have a calming effect on tensions in the region. Every moment we delay, the risk of a broader conflict increases.
Domingos Estêvão Fernandes: Whereby Israel and Palestine can live together side by side in peace and security as two independent and sovereign states.
Vasily Nebenzya: Many of you today did not find the courage to state clearly that the outburst of escalating violence in the Middle East is developing against the background of an operation which is lasting more than six months is unprecedented in terms of the number of victims and operation conducted by West Jerusalem in Gaza and West Bank and this is despite an unambiguous demand in Security Council Resolution 27/28 to ceasefire immediately. Such silence about the deep root of the crisis is unacceptable, we think, especially against the background of the tension surrounding Iran, which is fueled by the U.S. and other colleagues, and the fact that Israel is not complying with the Security Council resolutions is an obvious disrespect shown to the Council, to all of you.
Dai Bing: This round of escalations is the latest manifestation of the Gaza conflict spilling over to the wider region. It serves as another reminder that the Palestinian question remains essential to the Middle East issue and bears on the peace, stability and long-term security in the region. If the flames of the Gaza conflict are allowed to continue raging, then the adverse spillover is set to spread still further, making the region even more unstable. The top priority at this moment is an effective implementation of Resolution 27/28 to bring about an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Ultimately, there is no alternative to the full implementation of the two-state solution.
