ISRAEL STRIKES ON LEBANON KILL 3 HEZBOLLAH FIGHTERS
April 17, 2024Israel launched two separate strikes on Lebanon yesterday, one in Ain Baal and the other in Chehabiyeh killing a total of four people, including three Hezbollah fighters.
This strike comes amidst an escalation between Israel and Iran with the latter launching a retaliatory attack on April 13 that stunned the apartheid state. It also follows the hit by Hezbollah on a group of Israeli sodiers who infiltrated Lebanese territory on Monday and were caught by the militia who set off an explosion injuring four of the soldiers.
In Ain Baal, one person was reportedly killed. The Israeli military claimed this was Ismail Baz, the commander of Hezbollah’s coastal sector and a member involved in planning rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on Israel.
Additionally, Israeli strikes on two vehicles near the southern town of Chehabiyeh killed at least two Hezbollah members and one civilian, a security source and a civil defence official said.
Israel is seeking an escalation of this war on its Northern border with Lebanon. Some have speculated that the ‘promised attack’ by Israel on Iran will be an escalation of its war against Hezbollah rather than Iran.
Lebanon is on a state of alert as fears of an Israeli invasion mount.
Israel has violated so many international laws, conventions and rules and this is yet another display of its complete disrespect for internation law.

Al Jazeera Anchor: At least one person has been killed in an Israeli raid that targeted a car in the town of Ain Baal in southern Lebanon. Drone strikes launched from Lebanon, we understand, of injured three Israeli soldiers. The Israeli military says the strikes hit an area near the northern city of Kiryat Shmona. Well, let’s go straight to our correspondent, Ali Hashem. He joins us now from Ain Baal in southern Lebanon. Ali, I know this has all happened very, very recently. Talk us through what we know about what took place.
Ali Hashem: Just an hour ago, there were reports of a drone attack on a car on this road where we are right now, of course. You can’t come immediately to the scene because of the security measures. It took us some time to come here. Now, what we understood, there are casualties. Someone was killed. Several people were injured. Among those who were injured, also one civilian, while the others were Hezbollah members.
