May 5, 2024ICC HITS BACK AT NETANYAHU AND U.S CONGRESS. The Office of the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court stated that threatening to retaliate against their decisions may “constitute an offense” under Article 70 of the Rome Statute.
“The office insists that all attempts to impede, intimidate, or improperly influence its officials cease immediately.”
It comes after Netanyahu issued a statement asking world leaders to intervene and stop them from issuing arrest warrants against him and other senior Israeli officials.
Representatives in the U.S Congress have also threatened to impose sanctions on ICC officials should they go ahead with the arrest warrants.
