GLOBAL CONDEMNATION FOLLOWING RAFAH INVASION
May 8, 2024As the bombardment and annihilation of Gaza and its 2.3million population enters its eighth month, Israel began its final slaughter in Rafah.
But the CONDEMNATION of the WORLD could also be heard.
The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, warned Israel against a ground offensive into Rafah.
“I warn against a major offensive on Rafah. A million people cannot disappear into thin air. They need protection. They urgently need continued humanitarian assistance,” she wrote on X.
Additionally, both presidents of China and France, Xi Jinping and Emmanuel Macron, released a joint statement during summit-level talks in Paris.
The statement said the two heads of state “oppose the Israeli attack on Rafah, which will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe on a larger scale, as well as the forcible transfer of Palestinian civilians.”
Calling for an immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, the two sides called for “effective opening of all necessary access routes and crossings for the rapid, safe, sustainable and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip.”
Xi and Macron also called for an “immediate and effective implementation of the relevant UN resolutions” as it is the “only credible way to guarantee peace and security for all and to ensure that neither the Palestinians nor the Israelis will have to endure the horrors of what has happened since the October 7, 2023 attack.”
Israel has lost ALL CREDIBILIT on the global stage, further reinforced following its Rafah invasion which the world OPPOSED and long warned Israel against.
United Nations officials sternly condemned the invasion and cautioned Israel.
“This morning is one of the darkest in this seven-month-long nightmare. Now we see the beginning of a military incursion. Rafah is in the crosshairs,” said Jens Laerke, Spokesperson for the UN Humanitarian Office (OCHA).
Over 1.4 MILLION Palestinians are CRAMMED into this city!!
The world MUST intervene and PUT A FORCEFUL STOP TO THIS GENOCIDE!
If nothing happens, we will see wholesale slaughter and suffering of the Palestinians.
THIS MUST END NOW!!

Jens Laerke: The Rafah crossing is now under control of the Israeli Defense Forces and is currently closed for the movement of goods and people in both directions. Kerem Shalom Crossing is also closed for goods and people. We currently do not have any physical presence at the Rafah crossing as our access to go to that area for coordination purposes has been denied by COGAT. So that means that currently the two main arteries for getting aid into Gaza are currently choked off. Indeed, this morning is one of the darkest in this seven month long nightmare. Now we see the beginning of a military incursion. Rafah is in the crosshairs. IDF is ignoring all warnings about what this could mean for civilians and for the humanitarian operation across the Gaza Strip.
James Elder: Every warning, every image of children killed and injured, every heart breaking story of bloodshed and despair, every mind-boggling piece of data of the sheer number of children and mothers killed, of family homes and hospitals destroyed…It’s all been ignored. Our worst fears, Gazans’ nightmare appears to be a reality, and it’s a reality that those holding power still have the ability to prevent. More attacks from the warring parties and now evacuation orders yet again expose how parties to this conflict continue to utterly disregard the lives and protection of civilians and of children. This has to change, and this is the last moment for that to change. Aid must flow, hostages must be freed, Rafah must not be invaded and children must stop being killed. We’ve pleaded, we have implored countless times, and we do so once more. For the children of Rafah, we need a ceasefire now.
