REACTIONS IN TEL AVIV & JERUSALEM TO ICC ARREST WARRANTS
May 22, 2024Israelis in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem reacted after the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, said that he had applied for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas’s leaders in Gaza.
“It’s really outrageous that they’re coming after us, and obviously antisemitic.”
Israel slammed the move on Monday as a “historical disgrace” while Netanyahu called it “a moral outrage of historic proportions”.

Benjamin: Obviously it’s absurd. I mean, when there’s so many crimes around the world, and particularly the Arab world and China and where else, so I think it’s really outrageous that they’re coming after us and obviously anti-Semitic. For years we’ve been trying anything for peace, for civil rights, for human rights, and they’re barbarians.
Raphael: I think they are confused a little bit in the Hague. Because they are putting them – Bibi and Gallant, and these terrorists (Hamas) on the same leg, and they’re probably laughing at us. It’s very problematic. Bibi is the leader of a democratic country, the only democratic country in the Middle East. Sinwar is the head of a group of terrorists, who are extremely violent.
Ayelet Kobo: I do not believe Netanyahu can be stopped by this. I think if Netanyahu was going to be stopped by criminal trials against him, he would have stopped roughly 20 years ago. But I think it could be nice. Maybe it could help a bit.
Amran Zahavi: They must change. Also, they cannot say that we were defeated. Now everybody knows everywhere that we were defeated by 2000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and 2000 Hezbollah fighters in the North. They defeated the 300,000 soldiers of Israel.
