ISRAEL PREPARES “INTENSE OPERATION” AGAINST LEBANON CALLS UPON 50,000 RESERVISTS!
June 5, 2024Israel has HEIGHTENED its rhetoric regarding its Northern border with Lebanon. After Hezbollah caused severe damage by lighting up the North, including parts of the occupied Golan Heights, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site and announced the preparation of an intense operation.
This comes alongside the government’s expected approval of reservists for enlistment by 50000!
Before this, Israeli officials indicated the increased tension on the border and the military Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, expressed the intended shift to an “offensive” approach.
“We are approaching the point where a decision will have to be made, and the [Israeli army] is prepared and very ready for this decision,” Halevi said while touring an army base in Kiryat Shmona.
Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s Finance Minister, called for the destruction of Lebanon and returning it to the “stone age.”
”A year ago, the defense minister said that we will send Lebanon back to the Stone Age. Mr. Prime Minister, Mr. Defense Minister, Mr. Chief of Staff: That time has come.”
Mohammad Raad, head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc in the parliament, dismissed Israel’s threat of military action against Lebanon, stressing that such intimidation is simply meant to improve the Israeli forces’ morale amid the Gaza war.
“The Zionist entity knows that these threats are an object of ridicule among the parties that are well aware of its [military] … weaknesses. The enemy may opt to commit a folly against Lebanon, but such an action will be tantamount to its suicide.”
