LEBANESE MINISTER STORMS OUT OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OVER ISRAELI SPEAKER
June 7, 2024Lebanon’s caretaker Minister of Labor, Moustafa Bayram, and his accompanying delegation walked out when the Israeli representative began speaking at the 112th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva. In a show of solidarity, delegations from dozens of other countries also withdrew shortly afterwards.
The Lebanese Minister noted that the move was not pre-coordinated but rather initiated spontaneously by these countries.
He told Al Mayadeen that the Lebanese delegation depicted the reality of the Israeli aggression targeting southern Lebanon and the losses consequently incurred by the people of the South.
The diplomat pointed out that the report on Palestinian workers provides a clear picture of their suffering as a result of the restrictions and practices imposed on them by the Israeli occupation.
