Dershowitz challenged anyone to find a false historical fact in his book, offering $10,000 to the PLO if they succeeded. Finkelstein stepped up, pointing out that on page 80, Dershowitz claimed 2,000-3,000 Palestinians were made refugees, whereas Benny Morris’s Righteous Victims states 200,000-300,000 Palestinians fled during the same period.
