“NAKBA” WAS A TERM FIRST USED BY ISRAEL?
July 12, 2024
The term NAKBA, the word that Israel DENIES, was first used by the zionist state itself!
“What people or most people do not know is that this term Nakba, was not used by Palestinians to refer to what happened to them in 1948. This was used for the first time in history by Israeli forces in the leaflets that were thrown over al-Tira, that is a little village not far from Haifa in present-day Israel.”
The leaflets that Israel threw down at the Palestinians threatened them with ‘Nakba’ (catastrophe) if they didn’t leave.
“It was written, leave your houses or be your Nakba, or be your catastrophe.”

English Script:
Lorenzo Kamel: What people or most people do not know is that this term Nakba, was
not used by Palestinians to refer to what happened to them in 1948. This was used for
the first time in history by Israeli forces in the leaflets that were thrown over al-Tira, that
is a little village not far from Haifa in present day Israel. It was in July 1948. It was
written, leave your houses or be your Nakba, or be your catastrophe. And Palestinians
then started to use an expression that was used somehow to push them to leave their
houses. This is part of a historical process that has many ramifications. But it's
interesting from the perspective of an historian, because very often we see the concept
and the ideas that we tend to link just to one side, actually are part of a much more
bloody and problematic and complex past.
