The state where N*zi’s are given the freedom to protest yet Palestinians are ATTACKED by police for expressing their freedom of speech against a genocidal regime.
Germany has pursued several measures to BAN the expression of Palestinian solidarity and rhetoric against Israel.
On November 2, 2023, the German Interior Ministry announced a ban on the slogan “From the River to the Sea”.
As a result, the use of the phrase could be punished by a fine and imprisonment for a period of up to three years. In August 2024, an activist in Berlin was convicted and fined 600 Euros for chanting “From the River to the Sea” during a protest on October 11, 2023.
Not only that, but Berlin’s Education Senator issued a prohibition on the wearing of the Palestinian keffiyeh in Berlin schools on 16 October 2023, explaining to school administrators that wearing the keffiyeh could be understood as advocating or condoning the attacks against Israel or supporting Hamas or Hezbollah.
This is despite Germany’s policy of free speech, enshrined in their constitution.
“Every person shall have the right freely to express and disseminate his opinions in speech, writing and pictures and to inform himself without hindrance from generally accessible sources. Freedom of the press and freedom of reporting by means of broadcasts and films shall be guaranteed. There shall be no censorship.”
Apparently it’s applied selectively…
