NEWS EMMYS BACK BISAN NOMINEE AS AFTER BACKLASH
August 25, 2024Due recognition and praise should be afforded to the organizers of the News and Documentary Emmy Awards for standing behind their decision to nominate a documentary by Palestinian journalist Bisan Owda, after a pro-Israel lobby group called for its removal.
The racist group, deceivingly called “The Creative Community for Peace (CCFP)”, whose whole purpose is to propagate the Zionist ideology in Hollywood and throughout the highly influential American entertainment industry group published an open letter this week calling on the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) to rescind the nomination of “It’s Bisan from Gaza and I’m Still Alive” claiming that Bisan had ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist-Leninist political group that Canada, the U.S. and several other countries have categorized as a terrorist entity.
The film won a Peabody award in May and an Edward R. Murrow award this month.
In response to the letter calling for its ban, NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said in a statement published by Deadline that NATAS “has been unable to corroborate these reports, nor has it been able, to date, to surface any evidence of more contemporary or active involvement by Owda with the PFLP organization.”
BRAVO @wizard_bisan1 for your courage and your determination to continue to share the truth with the world. We pray God will continue to protect you and others who also risk their lives daily to keep us informed.
I VOTE FOR “IT’S BISAN FROM GAZA AND I’M STILL ALIVE”.
