WILL LEBANON FACE FULL-SCALE WAR?
September 3, 2024Other than GAZA, Lebanon is the only country that has endured death, destruction and devastation since the October 7th attack by Hamas resulted in an un-Godly act of revenge by the demonic Zionist regime that has hijacked Israel. More than 550 people have been killed including at least 250 civilians, homes, churches, and roads have been destroyed, thousands of hectares of agricultural land poisoned by Israel’s white phosphorus attacks.
We know we are the next target for Israel’s sickening, unlawful, unrestrained vengeance. While negotiations persist in Doha, many foreigners have left Lebanon and hundreds of thousands of Lebanese expats that normally return for the summer either didn’t come or left early.
For those who remain, and those like me who could have left but have decided to stay and continue to provide independent coverage as the situation on the ground escalates, the uncertainty is proving to be our biggest challenge.
Recently, I decided to canvass the pulse on the streets of the capital Beirut and travelled to outer-lying areas to compare the responses.
This is Part four of a four-part series that I will be sharing this week to keep you abreast of what the Lebanese think, feel and fear.
In this part, I address the question – “Will Lebanon face a full-scale war?”
For some, they believed we are at war and have personally had property or family affected.
For others, they believed it was far away and won’t escalate.
Check it out and share to support our PLEA for PEACE and an END to the MADNESS.

English Script:
Daizy Gedeon: So, in spite of the fear that definitely has taken hold across Lebanon, among the people, you stand here at a place like Corniche on the edge of the Mediterranean, and you look out at the fishermen and the children sunbathing and fishing, and you wonder if you’re in the same reality, the same country, facing the same terror. But that is the fact, the fact is that Lebanon is so close to war, and yet it is become natural for Lebanese, in spite of all of the fear and terror that might be upon them to just get on with their daily lives and live as if nothing is threatening them, because they have witnessed so many wars. It’s a testament, but the reality is war is imminent.
Daizy Gedeon: Do you think that Lebanon is facing war?
Nour: To me yes. I do feel like they’re facing war because my family is in the South and they do feel, like they’re directly affected by it. So, it’s very hard for me not to feel like we’re already at war, because every day we have to talk about this. So, I do feel like I’m already at war.
Charbel: War is already here. War has been here since the Port incident, till today. It’s present, whether by bombing, bad economy, or bank crisis, these are all wars. They’re killing us in our heads and in our lives, we’re scared all the time.
Jawad: Do I feel that war is near? It depends on the Israelis and Netanyahu now is trying to get everyone on his side, because after October 7, he’s the only one to blame, so he will try to get all the region on his side.
Hussein: Hopefully war won’t come to Lebanon. Hopefully it won’t, because we have the resistance. It has the power to stop them from waging a full-scale war on Lebanon.
Daizy Gedeon: So, you’re not scared?
Hussein: No, I am not at all.
Amira: Maybe that’s just my assumption, but I don’t think anything more is going to happen. Maybe that’s just an assumption from my side.
Daizy Gedeon: Inshallah you’re right. We all pray for nothing more to happen.
