Daizy Gedeon: You mentioned a 90% reduction in their salaries. Let’s look at the average salary of an officer and the average salary of a soldier. What were they and what are they today?
Andre Bou Maashar: Let’s say if an average soldier gets $1,000 per month before the economic crisis, now he’s getting $150 to $200, which is not considered the minimum wage required to ensure living in a dignified situation.
Daizy Gedeon: Yes.
Andre Bou Maashar: And for officers, they used to get paid around $4,200 USD previous to the economic crisis. Now they’re getting $400 to $600, which also is not good enough to maintain a dignified way of life.
