Media, Banks, Weapons, and Oil Industries: The True Winners of War
December 12, 2024Let’s tell it like it is, just like Donald Trump did. US troops are illegally militarily occupying Syria’s oil-rich eastern territory. Donald Trump himself boasted that, in his first term, he left US troops there to steal Syria’s oil.
Four points to remember from @AssalRad on Twitter:
• Israel is illegally occupying Syria’s Golan Heights.
• Syria’s sovereignty remains intact, making Israel’s current invasion a violation of international law.
• The term “buffer zone” is often used as a euphemism for occupation.
• Israel’s invasions of neighboring countries are not acts of liberation.
The U.S. is militarily occupying Syria’s oil-rich east, openly admitting it’s there to steal oil, depriving Syria of critical revenue for rebuilding after a decade of war fueled by foreign interference.
Add the brutal U.S. and EU sanctions which have devastated Syria’s economy, as the UN’s own experts have warned, driving millions into poverty and collapsing the state while extremists are thriving in the chaos, and as much as there is reason to celebrate getting rid of Assad, the speed alone with which it happened is harrowing.

English Script:
Trump: And then they say he left troops in Syria. You know what I did? I left troops to take the oil. I took the oil. The only troops I have are taking the oil. They’re protecting the oil.
Journalist: They weren’t taking the oil, right?
Trump: Well, maybe we will, maybe we won’t.
Journalist: They’re protecting the facility.
Trump: I don’t know, maybe we should take it. But we have the oil. Right now, the United States has the oil. So, they say he left troops in Syria. No, I got rid of all of them, other than we’re protecting the oil. We have the oil.
Craig Murray: There is no doubt that the so-called rebel forces attacking the government in Syria are creatures of the United States and of Israel. There has been congressional testimony in the United States openly, that the United States had spent more than half a billion dollars on the Syrian rebel forces. That was some years ago. It had gone up since then. Israel has provided medical and other support facilities to them perfectly openly. The United States yesterday was attacking forces coming from Iraq to try to help the government of Syria, while Israel was attacking the links between Syria and Lebanon, again with bombing from the air. And the forces facing the rebels, the Syrian Arab Army, the National Army of Syria, has been bombed relentlessly by Israel, for more than a year. So, there’s no doubt whatsoever that the rebels are backed by the CIA and backed by Israel, and that’s what’s happening here. It’s an attempt by the Americans and the Israelis, aided by the Turks, to overthrow the regime in Damascus in order to block assistance flowing through Syria to Lebanon.
