Middle East Eye: Israel Politicises Bondi Attack, Says Jewish Australian Artist Michelle Berkon
December 16, 2025
Yet once again, a horrific act of violence is being weaponised, twisted, and dragged into geopolitical talking points that serve power, not truth.
When even grief becomes a tool, we have to ask:
Who benefits from politicising pain?
Who profits from fear?
Calling this out isn’t antisemitism.
It’s integrity.
Truth doesn’t belong to states.
It belongs to people.
Share if you agree.

English Script:
Press: Are you able to tell us why you came here today?
Michelle Berkon: Absolutely, I’m very happy to tell you why I came here today. I’m entitled to speak, and they’re entitled to ask me. I came here today because I’m a Jewish person. Because my family was murdered in the Holocaust. Because I have community members murdered here. And I’m being threatened with arrest for talking with the press. Were there no Israeli flags here, we would not have worn a keffiyeh. Because this community has politicized this tragedy, we are standing here because the flag of Israel represents genocide. All Jews are entitled to mourn. Take away the Israeli flags
