At a moment meant to divide, this act did the opposite.

Bondi attack survivor: He saved my life and my four year old’s life. If Ahmed el Ahmed didn’t stop that guy, he was coming to do absolute horror, further horror, to what happened. Then, I can only say thank you to that Muslim brother that came and took it upon himself and risked his own life to save us.
Owen Shroyer: I listen to that statement from that man and I’m like, that’s what we should be focusing on. This could be the moment where we can actually bring Jews and Muslims together and finally, maybe work towards some peace and some harmony and say, hey, you know what? I’m a Jew, and this Muslim saved my life and my kid’s life, and I thank him for that. And I want to unite, and I want to bring peace, and I want to use this moment. I want to use this moment to bring the planet together, to bring Jews and Muslims together. Stand for peace. Stand for solidarity. And maybe finally stopping the hate and stopping the fighting and moving the ball in the right direction for once. That’s a beautiful moment. That’s what we should be focusing on.
