British Actress Juliet Stevenson Demands UK Halt Arms Sales to Israel Over Gaza Crimes
January 10, 2026
“STOP ARMING ISRAEL.”
When bombs are falling on civilians, silence is complicity.
Juliet Stevenson calls on the UK to end arms sales fueling the devastation in Gaza because human rights don’t stop at borders, and accountability shouldn’t either.
This is not about politics.
It’s about lives.
And the choice to stop supplying the weapons that end them.

English Script:
Juliet Stevenson: There are four fully equipped mobile maternity clinics waiting to cross the border, which would offer woman a secure and safe place to have their babies. They’re not allowed across this hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of aid waiting to get through, but the Israeli government has blocked it. So we’re asking Starmer and his government to put as much pressure as possible.
Interviewer: What specifically do you want them to do, though? Because I guess what they would say is, you know, we can say what we want, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to have an impact.
Juliet Stevenson: Well, I think we have to stop selling arms to Israel. You know, we have to stop supporting that regime, which is committing these sort of humanitarian atrocities in Gaza. I mean, we are still supporting the Israeli government. And it’s, you know, Keir Starmer says things, but the words are kind of meaningless unless you actually follow them up with actions. I think we just have to stop being such an ally and such a supporter militarily, you know, military terms and commercial terms. I would say, you know, that we have to start taking action, not just mouthing hollow language, because it’s not meaningful if you’re trying to survive as a mum or dad in Gaza, it’s meaningless. All over the world, people are saying things, but unless they start doing them, you know, it’s pointless. So I think we’re really asking to put your money where your mouth is. If you care about these families, these mums and children and do something.
Interviewer: Where are we at with the letter you’re publishing today? Or it’s being handed over to the government?
Juliet Stevenson: So the letter is an open letter to Justine Roberts, who’s the CEO, who is going to meet me very soon. She’s very kindly agreed to meet me. And I think this letter’s gone to the press yesterday and today. And yeah, hopefully it will gather strength from mothers who are watching and who feel strongly that they identify and empathize with those mums in Gaza and want to do something.
