Ibrahim Traoré survives a FAILED COUP.
A plot to assassinate Burkina Faso’s president is exposed and instead of chaos, the people mobilize.
This wasn’t an accident. It was destabilization.
The streets chose sovereignty.
The people chose resistance.
And the message is clear:
Africa is done being managed.

VO: Have you heard about the plot to kill Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traore? Reports of a failed coup emerged just a few days ago. Now the government has issued its first statement revealing new details about the attempted takeover.
Mahmoud Sana: There was a planned action to destabilize the country. This was carried out through a series of targeted assassinations of civilians and military authorities, beginning with the neutralization of Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traore, head of state, president of Faso, either at point-blank range or through an operation to mine his residence. We will mention only the principal actor. Which concerns former lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba. The military operatives were tasked with recruiting other soldiers, setting up action groups with clearly defined missions. And civilians were expected to mobilize part of the population, so that after the military action, they could mobilize support to back the military operation. It also important the fact that a significant portion of the funding come from Cote d’Ivoire, with the latest operation amounting to 70 million (CFA). I wish to salute the spirit of self-sacrifice, the spirit of patriotism of the population, and particularly the citizen vigilance groups. This massive mobilization of the population to project their leader, Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traore, bears to witness to their determination to support the irreversible march toward the liberation of Burkina Faso from the chains of imperialism.
