Hezbollah MP Speaks on Role in Conflict
In an interview with Secunder Kermani, Hezbollah MP Ibrahim Al-Moussawi said the group entered the conflict as an opportunity to “retaliate” against Israel and defend Lebanon.
Al-Moussawi stated that over 500 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in recent months, while maintaining that Hezbollah has “never fired first.”
He acknowledged that opinions within Lebanon are divided, with some criticizing Hezbollah’s role as aligned more with Iran than national interests. Despite this, he emphasized the group’s intention to stand firm and shape the conflict on its own terms amid ongoing tensions in southern Lebanon.
