Spain First Country Cleared by Iran to Use Strait of Hormuz, Report Claims
March 27, 2026
While the U.S. and Israel try to force the Strait of Hormuz open with threats, Spain has just been given the green light through diplomacy. The Iranian Embassy in Madrid officially announced that Tehran is receptive to requests from Spain for transit through the vital waterway, specifically citing Spain’s commitment to international law.
This is a massive shift. Spain is the first European Union country to receive this concession after Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez denounced the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran as illegal and reckless. While the Trump administration threatens trade embargoes on its own allies, Iran is rewarding Spain for refusing to play the aggression script. This move comes as Algeria also boosts gas supplies to Spain by 12.5% as a “reward” for its anti-war stance.
WELL DONE SPAIN!! 🤍
