Pope Leo XIV Urges Trump to End Iran War: ‘Pray for Victims, Find an Off-Ramp’
April 2, 2026
Pope Leo XIV has issued a final, desperate cry for sanity, urging Donald Trump to find an off-ramp before the fire consumes us all.
We are standing on the precipice of a catastrophic war with Iran, a conflict that promises nothing but the slaughter of innocents and the total destabilization of our world. While the elites in their bunkers draw lines on maps, it is the mothers, the children, and the forgotten families who will pay the price in blood.
Let us pray for the victims of war, not just the ones we have already lost, but the millions currently in the crosshairs of this ego-driven escalation.
Why is it always the most vulnerable who are sacrificed at the altar of geopolitical dominance? We are being led into a slaughterhouse by leaders who have forgotten the meaning of peace.
The Vatican has spoken. The moral compass of the world is pointing toward peace. Will Washington listen, or are they too blinded by the prospect of total war to see the human faces on the other side of the border?
The time for prayer is now, but the time for action was yesterday. Stop this madness before there is nothing left to pray for.

English Script:
Pope Leo XIV: I’m told that President Trump recently stated that he would like to end the war. I’m not sure he’s looking for an off ramp, and hopefully he’s looking for a way through to decrease the amount of violence, of bombing, which would be a significant contribution to removing the hatred that’s been created. And, it’s increasing constantly in the Middle East and elsewhere. So I will certainly continue to give this call to all leaders of the world and say, come back to the table for dialogue. Let’s look for solutions to problems. Let’s look for ways to reduce the amount of violence that we’re promoting. Christ suffer today in the innocent,in those who are suffering, especially because of violence hatred and war. Let us pray for them, for the victim of war. Let us pray that there may be a new, renewed peace, one that can give new life to everyone.
