Al Jazeera Sparks Fury Over ‘Israel-Centric’ Coverage on Lebanon”
April 3, 2026
Al Jazeera is catching absolute heat for its “Israel-centric” coverage of the invasion of Lebanon. While Lebanese civilians are literally begging for protection, the network is being slammed for giving Israeli officials a massive platform to brag about demolishing homes and erasing villages.
It’s a total betrayal of the people on the ground. Journalists and locals are calling out the lack of balance, accusing the outlet of pushing unfiltered Zionist talking points while the Lebanese army is ordered to stand down.

Al Jazeera anchor: Well, Israel’s defense minister Israel Katz says homes in southern Lebanon will be demolished and hundreds of thousands of displaced Lebanese will not be allowed to return as his military continues to occupy the area. Around 600,000 Lebanese have been displaced from their homes south of the Litani River since Israel’s war with Hezbollah began on March the 2nd. The river lies around 30km from the border with Israel. Katz says the Israeli military will continue to occupy the area even after the war ends, to ensure the security of people in northern Israel.
Katz: At the end of the operation, the IDF will establish a security zone in south Lebanon on a defense line against anti-tank missiles and will maintain security control over the entire area up to the litany, including the litany bridges that will remain while eliminating the Radwan forces that infiltrated the area and destroying all weapons found there. In addition, the return south of the Litani of over 600,000 residents of southern Lebanon who evacuated north will be strictly prohibited until the safety and security of the residents of the north is guaranteed. All houses in the villages near the border in Lebanon will be destroyed, in accordance with the model of Rafah and Beit Hanoun in Gaza. In order to remove once and for all the threats near the border from the residents of the north.
Al Jazeera anchor: Well, Lebanon’s army has begun pulling out of towns in the south of the country as Israel’s military advance continues and they’ve withdrawn from four towns, sparking protests from residents who are demanding their protection in light of the deteriorating security situation. A local priest tried to reach a government official, begging them to keep the army in place.
Father Najib: We refuse that they abandon us because if they leave, we will follow them. That is, we will all leave together. That means they must secure shelter for 6 or 7000 people from Rmeish alone. In addition to Ain Ebel and Debel. We absolutely refuse Rmeish, Ain Ebel, and Debel to be left in these circumstances. That is terrible. We place our trust in God. This land is ours. We have crops. We have soil. We can eat from it. And we will stay in our village. Either we all die and our village is lost, or we all live and our village lives. We beg you, do not abandon us. We are Lebanese. We will remain Lebanese and we will die Lebanese.
