Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi Appears Publicly in Tehran Despite Threats and Ongoing Strikes
April 6, 2026
While certain leaders are known for running to underground bunkers the second things get tense, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is doing the exact opposite. He was spotted walking the streets of Tehran and mixing with the public, completely unfazed by assassination threats or the recent strikes on the capital.
It’s a massive show of defiance that’s got everyone talking. Araghchi is sending a clear message to the world: he isn’t afraid and he isn’t hiding. Unlike the Israeli PM who stays tucked away in “”secret shelters,”” Iran’s leadership is out in the open, standing with their people while the region sits on a knife edge.

Reporter: I sense you wanted to be among the people in different way. Why?
Abbas Araghchi: In the name of God, the Merciful, I came only to draw inspiration. Seeing these people truly gives everyone a tremendous spirit. And I too, as just one drop among these same people, came to join them and participate in this movement, you know to draw my own inspiration and to truly enjoy this incredible turnout and people’s participation.
Reporter: How did you find it, Mr. Doctor?
Abbas Araghchi: Very excellent. It really moves you. You see this people, so motivated, with such fervor, with such high spirits, dedicating themselves to their country like this, protecting and preserving social cohesion. May God give strength to all of you.
