While official Lebanese delegations are locked in tense talks, a “parallel” normalization machine is working overtime in the shadows. Antoun Sehnaoui’s inner circle has just launched the Lebanese-Israeli Peace Alliance in D.C.
Leading the charge is Hagar Hajjar Chemali, a former U.S. Treasury official and long-time advisor to Sehnaoui. She was the one who broadcast the viral footage of Sehnaoui and Morgan Ortagus at the Holocaust Museum, where Ortagus openly mocked Lebanese law and bragged about Sehnaoui’s generational ties to Zionism.
Sehnaoui’s outlet, This is Beirut, is now a platform for Israeli officials, recently hosting the Mayor of Kiryat Shmona to discuss handling Hezbollah.
Sehnaoui is using his depositors’ frozen wealth to buy political protection in the West while facing money laundering charges back home.
These normalization pushes are being rushed through while Lebanon is still being bombed and occupied.
While the people of Lebanon struggle to access their own money, their banker is busy building a shadow cabinet to hand the country over on a silver platter.
