The footage is haunting: a 13-year-old Aboriginal girl, a child, brutally BODY SLAMMED onto the pavement by an off-duty WA Police officer. A grown man, backed by the power of the state, using combat-level force against a First Nations child.
This is the reality of being Black in Australia. From the streets of Perth to the cells of Banksia Hill, our children are being hunted and broken by the very people who claim to keep the peace.
Why is it that when the victim is an Aboriginal girl, the heroic police officer suddenly becomes a predator? We don’t want your internal reviews or your administrative leave. We want CRIMINAL CHARGES.
WA POLICE. YOU CANNOT HIDE THIS.
