Tucker Carlson Says He Regrets Helping Elect Donald Trump
April 25, 2026In this extraordinary footage from The Tucker Carlson Show on Monday Tucker Carlson is joined by his brother Buckley Carlson to deliver a staggering public apology. After years of being one of the loudest voices pushing the MAGA movement Tucker is now admitting that he is tormented by his own role in helping elect Donald Trump. He is looking directly into the camera and confessing that he totally misread the presidents plans for war and peace specifically regarding the devastating escalation of the war in Iran.
He is calling the current military actions absolutely disgusting and evil and he is apologizing for misleading his audience. He admits that he and everyone else who campaigned for Trump are implicated in this betrayal of the America First promise. This is not just a change of heart it is a full scale admission that the base was sold a vision of peace only to be handed another forever war.
Tucker admits that Trump had no plan and was fully aware that this war was a betrayal of his voters. The people who put their trust in this movement have been stabbed in the back by the very people they were told to believe in.

Tucker Carlson: You and I and everyone else who supported him. You wrote speeches for him. I campaigned for him. We were implicated in this for sure.
Unknown person: Yes.
Tucker Carlson: It’s not enough to say I changed my mind or like, oh, this is bad. I’m out. So, like, in very small ways, but in real ways. You and me and millions of people like us for the reason this is happening right now.
Unknown person: Yes.
Tucker Carlson: So I do think it’s like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. You know, we’ll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be, and I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people and it was not intentional. That’s all I’ll say. But anyway. But the question does present itself immediately. Like, what is this? Was this always the plan? You don’t want to be a conspiracy nut, but like… Clearly, there were signs of low character. We knew that.
Unknown person: Yes.
Tucker Carlson: But it didn’t. There are tons of people of low character who, like, outperform their character. It doesn’t have to be…
Unknown person: Sort of the norm, actually, these days I would say.
Tucker Carlson: Right. I’ve outperformed my character a lot. I don’t have especially high character. Right? But, you know, you try to whatever you try your best, but, but what was this? Was this always the plan?
