My response was that truth is no longer something we can passively receive, it’s something we must actively seek. It’s on all of us to question both sides, to look beyond the narratives we’re fed, and to trust our own ability to discern what is real.
We are not ignorant.
We are being tested.
Don’t outsource your thinking.
Don’t surrender your power.
Truth isn’t given.
It’s chosen.

Interviewer: I’m glad you’re saying that as the idea of trying to uncover the reality of things is the purpose of journalism. Now, how can journalism effectively bridge the gap between, you know, the official rhetoric when it comes to Tehran or even the United States, to the grim reality on the ground, because there’s a lot of disinformation right now, especially in the age of AI.
Daizy: Exactly. And this is a very critical question because, you know, you can’t just look at one side and not the other. And as a journalist and as all of us, we all need to do this. You know, it’s incumbent upon me, but it’s incumbent on all of us to listen to the rhetoric coming from both sides and then try and look what’s the realities on the ground and determine who’s telling me the truth, and which rhetoric am I to follow and believe. Because you know, they try to make human beings and the average person, average public ignorant or assume that we are ignorant, you know, but we’re not. We have an innate nature to determine what is in front of me, what I think is right and what I think is wrong, and listen to the words coming from both sides and determine the reality on the ground. It is incumbent on every single human being to take responsibility and not wait for somebody to tell you what the truth is. You know better yourself. Don’t give away your power to someone else. Decide for yourself.
