The cruelty of the occupation just reached a new low. During a violent raid on the Shu’fat refugee camp in occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli soldiers targeted Mahdi Abu Talib, a Palestinian child with Down Syndrome.
Video footage captured the heart-wrenching moment Mahdi, clearly frightened and disoriented was chased through the streets by armed soldiers. Despite his obvious medical condition, the soldiers didn’t back off; they cornered him and physically assaulted him before briefly detaining him.
While soldiers were terrorizing Mahdi, they also targeted his brother, who was beaten during the encounter.
The “most moral army in the world” is now using its power to hunt down a child who couldn’t even understand why he was being chased.
