Israeli Soldiers Humiliate French-American Jewish Activist After Gaza Flotilla Hijacking
May 25, 2026Following the violent high-seas hijacking of the Global Sumud Flotilla, French-American Jewish activist and Progressive International co-coordinator David Adler shared the horrific abuse he faced in custody. Adler revealed that after occupation forces boarded their aid vessel at gunpoint in international waters, he was singled out, stripped, blindfolded, and subjected to targeted psychological torment—all for refusing to let his Jewish identity be weaponized to justify a blockaded population’s starvation.
Upon being dragged ashore at the Port of Ashdod, Israeli soldiers took Adler’s passport, realized he was Jewish, and immediately separated him and another Jewish activist from the rest of the group.
In a highly calculated move, soldiers forced Adler to kneel in the dirt directly in front of an Israeli flag while goons taunted him.
Adler heavily criticized the U.S. government for completely abandoning its own citizens on the boats while catering to Tel Aviv, noting that American delegates were dropped in the Jordanian desert after intense diplomatic pressure finally forced their deportation.
For Adler, whose grandfather fought in the French Resistance against the Nazis, joining the flotilla to bring baby formula and medical aid to Gaza was a direct extension of his Jewish values, values completely at odds with the ethno-nationalist violence of his captors.
