Graduating CUNY Law students have taken a fearless stand, disrupting their own commencement ceremony to demand an end to institutional complicity in the Palestinian genocide.
The student organizers and speaker lay bare the deep hypocrisy of the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Despite its public branding as a progressive social justice institution, the administration has continually chosen to protect its financial investments in weapons, surveillance technology, and military contractors that arm the Israeli occupation. In response to years of peaceful student demands for BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions), university management instead unleashed police repression and systematically stripped away live streams and student graduation speakers to silence the truth.
Instead of sitting quietly for a watered-down ceremony, these law graduates disrupted the event to expose the school’s complicity in the ongoing genocide.
