Former Israeli Spy Warns Turkey and Egypt Could Be Next Targets After Gaza Lebanon and Iran
May 30, 2026“A storm is coming.”
Those are the words of Jonathan Pollard, the Israeli-American spy who served 30 years in prison for passing classified U.S. intelligence to Israel.
Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Pollard claimed that after Iran, Israel must prepare for what he described as the “next war”, naming both Turkey and Egypt as potential future targets.
His comments come as regional tensions continue to escalate following the devastation of Gaza, ongoing attacks on Lebanon, and growing friction between Israel and several of its neighbours.
Pollard, a close ally of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, has also supported calls for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and has repeatedly advocated hardline expansionist policies.
Meanwhile, relations between Israel and Turkey have sharply deteriorated since the genocide in Gaza, despite decades of military, security and trade cooperation. Egypt and Israel, which have maintained a peace treaty since 1979, have also faced increasing tensions amid the ongoing war.

English Script:
Jonathan Pollard: I’m not so sure that we will have as easy a time with the Turks, as we’ve had with the Iranians. I’ve been following Turkish military doctrine.
Martin Buksdorf: The strongest army in the Middle East?
Jonathan Pollard: The storm is coming.
Martin Buksdorf: Yeah, of course. And they’re a member of NATO.
Jonathan Pollard: And even worse, they’re a member of NATO. So I look at Iran as a problem, we absolutely have to finish. And I’ll explain what I mean by that. Gaza same thing, and the Hezbollah. Why am I fixated on this now? Because we have to be prepared for the next war, which will be probably against Turkey and Egypt.
