President Aoun Says Diplomacy the Only Solution for Liberation of Lebanon From Israel, Hezbollah and Iran
June 6, 2026BEIRUT — In a fierce rebuff to regional and external actors, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has publicly condemned the continuous cycle of violence, demanding an end to the destructive actions of both Israel and H*zboll*h.
Addressing the nation following H*zboll*h’s rejection of a Washington-brokered ceasefire proposal, Aoun issued a blunt message to the militant group’s leadership and its backers in Tehran:
“The Lebanese people are not your people… Lebanon is not your country, it’s ours.”
Aoun emphasized the profound “fatigue” of the Lebanese population across all religious sects, noting that entire families have been decimated and communities uprooted. Declaring that the citizens of Lebanon “have had enough and want to live in peace,” the President asserted his mandate to protect the nation’s sovereignty and stop Lebanese homes from being systematically destroyed every few years by catastrophic external conflicts.
