Palestinian Father Grieves Son Killed While Heading to School in Gaza Attack
June 14, 2026
Jad Suleiman was only eight years old.
He should have been worrying about homework.
Playing with friends.
Asking his uncle for a piece of namoura, his favourite sweet.
Instead, his father is now left repeating his name through tears.
“The boy is gone, gone.”
Jad was killed while walking home from school in Jabalia refugee camp, his backpack still on his shoulders.
A child who left for school and never came back.
A child whose future was stolen before it had even begun.
As his grieving father remembers the smallest details about him, the things that made Jad who he was, the world is reminded that behind every death toll is a child with dreams, habits, favourite foods and people who loved them beyond words.
Not a statistic.
Not a number.
A little boy.
A son.
A whole world to his family.
And now another Palestinian child added to the growing list of young lives lost in Gaza.
How many more fathers must bury their children?
