Leaked Document Claims Israel Pressured Meta To Censor Pro-Iran Content
June 20, 2026
WHO CONTROLS WHAT BILLIONS OF PEOPLE SEE ONLINE?
A report by The Intercept alleges that Israeli authorities pressured Facebook and Instagram to remove pro-Iran content and footage showing missile strikes during recent regional tensions, raising fresh concerns about censorship and the growing influence governments may have over online platforms.
As wars are fought not only on battlefields but across social media feeds, control of information has become a powerful weapon in its own right.
If footage disappears, accountability becomes harder.
And when governments influence what the world sees, the first casualty is often the truth.
KEEP PUSHING FOR THE TRUTH.

We finally have evidence. 94% of all content the Israeli government doesn’t like, Meta is removing from Instagram and Facebook. Thanks to The Intercept and their fantastic journalism, we now know why so many of my videos are getting suppressed. Israel has been directly asking Meta to remove any content that is anti-Israel, anything that’s pro-Iran, and even any video evidence of successful Iranian missile strikes. I wouldn’t be surprised if this video gets hidden from your feeds. And it’s the whole reason we’re building Interval, where no billionaires and no foreign governments can tell us what we can and cannot publish. Whether it’s the atrocities abroad or the US quietly turning into a surveillance state, we all know that the most important stories are the ones getting censored. While we technically have freedom of speech here in the US, the world works differently in 2026. Most of us are online. If you pause to think about it, it’s insane that one company headquartered in California gets to police the speech of billions of people, not just in the US, but around the world. I hope I catch you over on Interval because the only way that we can stand up for the things that we know are right is if we’re staying informed and not manipulated. And our journalists will never stop highlighting the things that matter most. Catch you in the next one.
