Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has accused Israel of carrying out a “systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity” in the occupied West Bank, delivering one of the strongest condemnations yet from a senior figure within Israel’s own political establishment.
For years, Palestinians have warned that expanding settlements, forced displacement, land seizures and escalating settler violence were not isolated incidents but part of a broader strategy to remove Palestinians from their land.
Now, those warnings are being echoed by a former Israeli leader himself.
Olmert’s remarks come as Palestinians across the West Bank face increasing attacks, home demolitions, military raids and the rapid expansion of illegal settlements under the protection of the Israeli military.
Palestinians have been sounding the alarm for decades.
The world can no longer claim it wasn’t warned.
