PRADA FACING BOYCOTTS AFTER APPOINTING SAINT LEVANT AS BRAND AMBASSADOR
July 4, 2026
Pro-Israeli activists are literally calling for a boycott of Prada just because a campaign featured a map of historic Palestine. They want to erase Palestinian history, culture, and existence so badly that even a map throws them into a panic.
Huge respect to Prada for standing ground, and shoutout to Saint Levant for always carrying the culture proudly. They can’t erase what’s eternal.

Zeina al Qawasmi: Prada is in the hot seat. It’s facing online backlash from pro-Israeli users, calling for a boycott of the brand and accusing it of supporting the extinction of Israel and erasing Israel from the map. And the story does revolve around the map. See, a few days after Prada launched its spring Summer 2027 menswear collection and announced that Palestinian singer Saint Levent, a.k.a. Marwan Abd El Hamid, would be its new brand ambassador. In the video, the Palestinian singer wears a pendant of Pre Nakba Palestine before it was ethnically cleansed by Zionist guns to make way for the creation of Israel. Many celebrated seeing a Palestinian star in that role, but pro-Israeli accounts attacked it. Prada hasn’t commented on the criticism and simply want to seemed largely unbothered. This kind of campaign hasn’t only been directed at fashion houses. Actor Susan Sarandon was dropped by her management agency at the end of 2023, after attending and speaking at pro-Palestinian rallies.
Susan Sarandon: I was fired by my agency specifically for marching and speaking out about Gaza, for asking for a ceasefire.
Zeina al Qawasmi: Melissa Barrera was fired from the film Scream seven after posting about Gaza and sharing pro-Palestinian content. Across politics, academia, publishing and more, people speaking out against Israel’s actions faced attacks on one occasion. Pressure works in the opposite direction. In 2023, Zara faced major backlash over an ad campaign for a line of chocolates which was shot in its rubble and featured mannequins wrapped in white like shrouds. People were angry, pointing out the resemblance to scenes from Israel’s genocidal war on racism and accusing Zara of trivializing Palestinian deaths. And at the opposite end are the companies openly weaving solidarity with Palestine into their branding. In 2025, global beauty juggernaut Huda beauty launched a collaboration with Saint-Laurent named Kalamantina after one of his hits, For a Beauty, described as a tribute to Palestinian culture and resilience. With proceeds supporting relief efforts in Gaza. Some people say campaigns like this commercially causing the cause, while others celebrate them as rare moments where Palestinian artists can be visible despite pro-Israel pressure. And Prada’s campaign and its new brand ambassador are now in the middle of that debate.
