84-Year-Old Retired English Priest Arrested on Terrorism Charges After Supporting Palestine Action
July 7, 2026
What kind of world brands an 84-year-old retired priest a “terrorist” for standing with Palestine?
At 84 years old, most people spend their days in quiet retirement. Sue Parfitt chose something else.
She chose to stand in public, holding a sign in support of Palestine Action. She knew the consequences. She knew she could be arrested. She knew she could face years behind bars.
Yet she showed up anyway.
Arrested repeatedly under the UK’s Terrorism Act for expressing support for a banned protest group, Sue Parfitt has refused to be intimidated. As police detained her once again, she urged the very officers arresting her to stand on the side of justice.
Age did not silence her. Fear did not stop her.
History has never remembered those who stayed silent.

English Script:
Sue Parfitt: What can I do at my age? My frailty? Very little. I do what I can to support the Palestinians, and one of the best thing that I could do is to support the organization known as Palestine Action, because they have been brave enough to some of them, smash up the weapons, that are producing the genocide. So I ask you too to support Palestine Action. Join me. Well, I’m so proud, as always, to be associated with anything supporting Palestine Action, which is the sort of sharp end of the huge movements in support of Palestinians in this country. So I do support them, it’s ridiculous that they’re a terrorist organisation, and I continue to support them. That apparently makes me a terrorist.
