Former U.S. Army Colonel and former Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell, Lawrence Wilkerson, has delivered one of the most damning critiques of American foreign policy from someone who once stood at its highest levels.
According to Wilkerson, many of the terrorist groups Washington spent decades fighting did not emerge in a vacuum. They were the consequence of U.S. military interventions, regime-change operations, occupations, and policies that destabilized entire regions.
After trillions of dollars spent, countless military campaigns, and millions of lives forever changed across Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and beyond, Wilkerson says America helped create the very threats it later used to justify endless wars.
When the architects of America’s foreign policy begin admitting that its wars fueled the extremism they claimed to defeat, the question is no longer whether mistakes were made. The question is who will be held accountable.
We need to expose them.
