Southern Lebanon Christian Villages Reject Netanyahu’s Israel Annexation Claim
July 8, 2026
Lebanon’s Christian leaders, municipalities, and mukhtars have categorically rejected the claim that they want to be annexed by Israel, calling it completely fabricated and “without any basis in reality.”
Even after around 17 Christian villages in southern Lebanon issued a joint statement reaffirming that Lebanon is their one and only homeland, Netanyahu repeated the allegation in an interview with Fox News.
Many see this as an attempt to manufacture division, pit communities against one another, and create the illusion that Israel’s military presence has local support, even though those it claims to represent have publicly denied it.
If the people you’re claiming to speak for are publicly calling your claims false… why keep repeating them?
Lebanon has survived decades of occupation, invasion, and repeated attempts to divide its people along sectarian lines.
Many Lebanese—Christian, Muslim, and Druze alike—see this as yet another attempt to fracture the country’s unity and rewrite its reality for a global audience.
You cannot claim to “protect” people who have already made it clear they never asked for your protection.
🇱🇧 Lebanon’s sovereignty is not negotiable. Its people have already spoken.
