Barclays, NYC Health and Belgium Join BDS Campaign Against Israel
July 16, 2026
The boycott movement is growing—and some of the world’s biggest institutions are taking notice.
As the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement marks 21 years, supporters say 2026 has become one of its most significant years yet.
From Barclays Bank to NYC Health, and the Belgian government, a growing number of institutions, organizations, and public bodies have announced measures that supporters describe as aligning with BDS principles or increasing pressure over Israel’s policies toward Palestinians.
For advocates, these decisions represent more than symbolic gestures.
They are proof that sustained public pressure, grassroots organizing, and collective action can influence governments, corporations, and major institutions.
Every institution that chooses to divest, boycott, or reconsider its relationship with Israel sends a message that human rights should come before profit.
🇵🇸 Twenty-one years later, the movement continues to grow and so does the global call for accountability.
Keep supporting them @bds.movement
