London Jury Refuses to Convict Palestine Action Activists in Elbit Raid
August 21, 2026Following a high-stakes trial at the Old Bailey, a London jury refused to convict seven pro-Palestine activists accused of helping organize the August 2024 raid on an Elbit Systems weapons factory in Filton, near Bristol.
After more than 37 hours of deliberations, jurors were discharged after failing to reach a verdict on charges of criminal damage and violent disorder.
Despite aggressive crackdowns and attempts to label direct action as terrorism, ordinary citizens on the jury refused to rubber-stamp state convictions.
You can deploy counter-terrorism police, ban activist groups, and attempt to intimidate dissenters, but you cannot force a jury to protect the war industry.
