By claiming the Lebanese Armed Forces are “failing to dismantle infrastructure” and avoiding confrontation with Hezbollah, Israeli officials are manufacturing a pretext to stall planned troop withdrawals, reject further security agreements, and justify ongoing strikes across southern Lebanese villages.
Calling diplomacy “failed” gives the green light to break agreements and keep military boots on foreign soil.
Whenever Israelis want to stay in occupied territory and break ceasefires, they claim “the security deal didn’t work”.
