Fallout from NSW police conduct at Sydney’s anti-Herzog rally, which is under investigation after allegations of widespread police brutality, is continuing to compound six months on.
Bodycam footage of an officer bragging about punching a protester was widely shared on social media this week.
Separately, a Palestinian Australian man who alleges he was punched in the face when trying to stop police from harassing Muslim men praying during the February protest, has launched a civil action alleging that he was assaulted, battered and also maliciously prosecuted.
The premier, Chris Minns, had previously urged the public “to not look at a 10-second clip without the full context” after a number of videos went viral showing police allegedly punching protesters and dragging Muslim worshippers away while they were praying.

The NSW police and premier declined comment while matters are before the court, and while the police watchdog is undertaking its investigation.
