BDS Victory: Israel Could Lose Billions in EU Bond Sales After People-Powered Campaign
September 14, 2026
ISRAEL JUST LOST ITS LAST DOOR INTO EUROPEAN BOND MARKETS.
Not sanctions from a government. People power.
Last year, EU Israel Bonds raised $2.5 billion — unrestricted loans straight into the Israeli military and government’s pockets. As of September 1st, that pipeline is dead. Luxembourg refused to renew approval. Nowhere left in the EU to sell them.
This didn’t happen by accident. Ireland cut them off first, after years of grassroots organizing. Then Luxembourg — the country Israel picked specifically to replace Ireland — followed, under the exact same pressure. Two dominoes down, both toppled by activists, not politicians.
And it’s not isolated. This same week, 12 EU countries announced sanctions and trade restrictions on illegal settlement goods.
This is what it looks like when a global movement stops asking and starts making it materially impossible to fund genocide, apartheid, and occupation. Every bond blocked. Every sale stopped. Every door closed.
The economy is a battlefield too. We’re winning on it.
