B’Tselem Report Accuses Israel of Systematically Dismantling Palestinian Life in the West Bank
September 16, 2026
“THIS IS THE ELIMINATION PROJECT.”
Not an activist slogan. The title of a 245-page report from B’Tselem — an Israeli human rights organization, founded in Jerusalem in 1989 built on nearly 2,000 Palestinian testimonies.
Their conclusion: everything happening in the West Bank isn’t a series of isolated incidents. It’s one coordinated system, running on five tracks at once — violence, ethnic cleansing, movement restrictions, economic strangulation, and the destruction of Palestinian social and political life. Land seized. Homes demolished. Charities raided, even ones caring for orphans. Checkpoints and two-tiered rule making basic life, work, school, a hospital visit, seeing family, nearly impossible.
B’Tselem traces the blueprint straight to a 2017 document written by Bezalel Smotrich years before he became a minister with the power to help execute it.
Their own words: “the main goal is to eliminate Palestinians as a collective.”
This isn’t propaganda from outside Israel. This is Israelis, looking at their own government’s record, and calling it exactly what it is.
