U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen didn’t mince a single word. After Netanyahu released a video accusing NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani of supporting Hamas and inciting violence against Jewish New Yorkers, Van Hollen called it exactly what it was: a lie, from a man under an active ICC arrest warrant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
“Netanyahu is a chronic liar. He lies and lies and lies.”
Van Hollen didn’t stop there. He pointed to Netanyahu’s government still refusing accountability for American citizens killed in the West Bank by settlers and Israeli forces — including 19-year-old Palestinian-American Nasrallah Abu Siyam, shot dead by a settler in February. He’s also moved to block a $2.8 billion arms package, including 40,000 bombs, saying American taxpayers shouldn’t fund a government “led by a wanted war criminal.”
His closing line said it plainly: Netanyahu is lucky the U.S. even let him in the country.
When members of Congress start saying this on the record, the shield of untouchability is cracking.
