LA Times Faces Backlash Over Israeli Tourism Campaign Accused of Erasing Palestine
October 3, 2026
THEY CAN’T OCCUPY THE LAND, SO THEY’RE ERASING IT FROM THE MAP
The LA Times just sold its pages to Israel’s government and the product was erasure.
A paid tourism campaign, “Israel: Land of Creation,” now runs in one of America’s biggest newspapers showing Israel as one single, borderless state from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River. Occupied Palestine: gone. Syria’s occupied Golan Heights: rebranded as Israeli land. Not one mention of Palestine or Palestinians anywhere in the campaign.
This is what occupation looks like when it runs out of ways to justify itself on the ground, it tries to erase the ground from the map instead.
Produced by LA Times Studios. Funded directly by Israel’s Ministry of Tourism. Sold to millions of readers as travel content.
Stolen land doesn’t stop being stolen just because you draw a prettier border around it.
